Get to Know Me!
Ashley Williams has always been destined to sing. Raised in a South Georgia home surrounded by music, her dad introduced her to the witty storytelling of southern rock, sparking her passion for music and songwriting. Her natural ability as a singer became apparent in her energy and dedication in choir, talent shows, and local concerts. From a young age strangers would comment to her parents, “She’s going to be a star”. This support from her local community only grew stronger when Ashley lost her dad at the tender age of nine. Inspired by her father’s influence and the support from her community, she began to pursue music as more than just a beloved hobby. Picking up the pen she began to write about her experiences growing up in that small town in Georgia and, 10 years later, those stories and songs are ready to be shared.
In high school, Ashley began to dive into her musical pursuits more intentionally. She was an active member of her musical theater troupe, school choir, and was briefly a member of a band. While she loved performing within her local community, she felt a draw to the larger stage. Like her idol before her, Carrie Underwood, She began auditioning for popular singing competitions like American Idol, The Voice, and America’s Got Talent. During that time, she was selected for a full scholarship to Berklee College of Music’s 5-week intensive program, honing her craft and knowledge in theory and live performance. In 2016, she made the move to Nashville, enrolling at Belmont University to study Music Business with an emphasis in Law.
As a songwriter, Ashley has always focused on authenticity. She strives to constantly write something that is meaningful to listeners. Whether her songs are about her own personal experiences or that of others, her priority is creating raw, honest material. She deeply prides herself in being able to draw listeners into the stories she tells with her voice. She finds inspiration as a songwriter in the iconic female storytellers like Taylor Swift, Ashley McBryde, and Miranda Lambert - unapologetic, vulnerable, and real.
Moving forward into her next chapter of her career, Ashley is excited to share the songs of her start. Produced by Stephen Leiwiki out of Nashville, TN, 23, a detailed look at Ashley and her life so far, will be available everywhere July 2022.
